There are three
important dates
explained below that
will give the public an
opportunity to speak
before several important
groups that will play a
vital role in whether
the Yaphank proposal
moves forward or not.
Legislator Browning
strongly urges you to
notify anyone that is
interested in these
dates and to attend the
meetings.
Suffolk County
Executive Levy is
scheduled to make
a presentation on his
Legacy Village plan and
concept to the LI
Regional Planning Board
on 11/10 at 10 AM at the
Grant Campus of
Suffolk County Community
College in the Health
Sports Education
Complex, Lecture Hall MD
105. (Brentwood Campus).
There is public comment
period permitted at the
Planning Board.
A second and very
important opportunity to
speak will be at the
Suffolk County
Legislative meeting on
Tuesday, November 17.
There is a public
hearing scheduled for
the County Executive’s
resolution to declare
the property surplus
starting at 2:30pm in
the Rose Caracappa
Legislative Auditorium,
William Rogers
Legislature Building,
Veterans Memorial
Highway,Smithtown, NY
11787. All 18
legislators will be
present, which gives you
the best chance to have
them all hear your
concerns at the same
time. You will need to
fill out a card prior to
2:30pm and will be
allotted 5 minutes to
speak.
Additionally, the
project is also
scheduled to be
presented to the Council
of Environmental Quality
at its' regular public
meeting at 9:30 a.m. on
Wednesday, November
18th, 2009; in the Rose
Caracappa Legislative
Auditorium, William
Rogers Legislature
Building, Veterans
Memorial Highway,
Smithtown, NY 11787. All
citizens are invited to
submit testimony, either
orally or in writing at
that meeting. Written
comments can also be
submitted prior to the
meeting to the attention
