There are many issues affecting
the community of South Yaphank
as well as neighboring
communities.
Many of these issues are
controversial and some can be very
polarizing but they do affect the
quality of life of the residents and
must therefore be addressed.
While there are no "quick fixes", we
try to remain vigilant and to stay
abreast of current developments and
situations. We focus on facts
and we pride ourselves on that.
We do not allow rhetoric, rumor or
hearsay to guide our actions and
because of that we have earned a
great deal of respect from the
various governmental and
non-governmental entities with which
we interact as well as from the
decision-makers who represent them.
This approach may lack excitement
and sometimes may seem slow or
ineffective, but we have learned
through the years that thoroughness
and intelligent interaction is far
more successful in the long run than
emotional recklessness.
Many
decision-makers have come to accept
(and have often stated publicly)
that if SYCA says it, it must be
true and that validates our efforts.
