Hey
all:
Thanks
to those of you that
attended the CEQ meeting
this morning. It was a good
outcome in that the council
decided that your comments
were substantial enough to
require additional work on
the EIS. The consultant,
Cameron Engineering, will be
given 45 days to review the
public comments and
incorporate them into the
document. A final EIS will
be prepared at the end of
the 45 day period and
submitted to the legislature
for approval.
In
addition, the resolution
sponsored by Legislator
Kennedy to surplus 95 acres
of industrial land rather
than the full 247 acres and
was given a negative
declaration and will now go
in to committee for
approval.
This resolution also
kills the Legacy Village
project.
The resolution could be
voted on next week and is an
alternative that could
provide the revenue the
county is seeking
without selling off all
the land to a developer.
I will
let you know what happens in
the coming weeks regarding
these resolutions.
Thanks.
